How to Make Money as a Homeschooling Mother and a Firefighter

Published / by admin / Leave a Comment

How difficult it is to live financially in these times! I’m sure it is hard for anyone to live on one salary! My firefighter friends have said to me, “Man, how do you manage?” You can bet that I know it’s not easy. The homeschool moms also have to figure out how to raise the money needed to cover the costs and, hopefully, have enough to have an evening or weekend away. If you want to maximize your earning potential and explore new opportunities as a firefighter, then you need to check out the Passive income for firefighters

After almost two decades of marriage, before having our three kids we agreed that my wife would be at home to raise them. It took a lot of sacrifice to start. During that time she earned just over $10,000 per annum. This ten-thousand dollars would have gone a long way in the past. We began to reduce some non-essentials in our lives. We reduced our vehicle from two to just one. This meant we could not travel as frequently as previously. When I look back at it now, I know it was worth it.

You probably already know that firefighters are on call at all hours. It is necessary to have someone on call 24/7 in order to safeguard the community against fires and other emergencies. The majority of schedules provide 48 or more hours off following a 24 hour work shift. It is my guesstimation that 90 percent or more of the people in our department work on their off-days. Our department has construction workers, truck drivers, painters and computer technicians to name just a few. In their free time, some men work as ambulance drivers!

In addition to committing to having mom stay at home and raise our children, we committed to homeschooling them! This requires even more sacrifices. Again, sacrifices are well worth it. Homeschooling is a decision that we took for many different reasons. This article won’t go into all of them. It is difficult to earn extra income when you are working and involved in schooling, maintaining the house and caring for your family.
